Bionetics Photo Services has developed specifications for the design of a complete camera control system that is remote controllable and fiber optic based. This multifunctional integrated system allows for full menu control of all cameras, control of all Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) units, separate control of the Surveillance System, simultaneous start of video recorders, audio transmission, and transmission of broadcast quality video from forty-eight camera positions to the Atlas Spaceflight Operations Center (ASOC). Although the majority of equipment used for launch imaging at LC 41 is owned by LMSS, we support launches with specialized Bionetics assets including: broadcast quality high-resolution video cameras; proprietary still cameras and camera start systems; explosion-proof housings; 10 mobile searchlights (35 million candelas each) and 10 mobile generators.
